Quick Walk in Madrid – in Photos
While waiting for our flight to Casablanca, we had six hours to explore Madrid. It is easy and quick to reach the Madrid city centre from Barajas Airport by bus (Airport Express). Tickets cost € 5 in one direction, and the only drawback is the lack of seating places and because of that you most probably will have to stand for 30 minutes.
We had the good fortune to visit the Spanish capital on a sunny December day when the city centre was full of people. The numerous avenues and squares crowded. The ideal centre – 0 km or Puerta del Sol as it is known, from where all Spanish roads begin, was festively decorated with a beautiful golden Christmas tree which probably looks even more beautiful at night.
There was a variety of street artists who entertained the people that come to stroll around. Of course, most happy were the children. Except for the quick walk, we found time to taste one of the Spanish traditional dishes – paella, which perfectly complemented the atmosphere around us.
